Article summary

  • Folks ATS now centralizes candidate SMS replies and adds a team widget showing the last 50 exchanges, filterable by channel.
  • Starting October 30, 2026, Folks Payroll customers can submit Records of Employment directly to Service Canada via the Protected Automated Transfer (ROE TAP).
  • AI resume analysis in Folks ATS now recommends the most relevant open positions for each candidate.

This month, Folks ATS finally brings every candidate conversation — texts included — into one place, and payroll reaches a new milestone: employment records can now be submitted automatically to Service Canada. Here’s everything that shipped in October, plus the usual round of improvements.

New Features

Folks ATS: Candidate Messaging, Finally Unified

Until now, you could send texts to candidates, but their replies stayed invisible in the ATS. Not anymore: they now show up directly in the Messaging tab of the candidate record, alongside email and LinkedIn exchanges.

A new Recent Messages widget also appears on the homepage: it displays the last 50 candidate exchanges (unread messages first), with filters by channel and direction. Admins can grant named users visibility into every conversation on a record, with a toggle between All Messages and My Messages, keeping your applicant tracking process smooth even when several people are involved.

Folks Payroll: Employment Records Go Automatic

Big news for payroll teams this month: starting October 30, 2026, you can submit your Records of Employment (ROE) directly to Service Canada through the Protected Automated Transfer (ROE TAP). One less manual step in your payroll management!

Improvements

Folks HRIS

  • Statutory holidays: configuration has moved to Company > Standards, with translations per holiday and separate lists for Canada and the US.
  • Performance review tracking: the Employment Status filter now shows active employees by default.

Folks ATS

  • After an AI resume analysis, a new Recommended Jobs section suggests the most relevant open positions for the candidate, with a one-click Assign button.

Folks Payroll

  • The Province of Employment field is now required to sync payroll.
  • Missing payroll fields were added to employee import/export: pay type, salary percentage, salary type sent to payroll, and pay stub language.
