Cultural Fit

Culture or cultural fit, often referred to as culture alignment, describes how well an employee’s values, behaviors, and way of working align with a company’s culture, mission, and goals.

Commonly used in recruitment, cultural fit is widely seen as a key factor in a successful hire. It contributes to stronger teamwork, faster integration into a role and a new work environment, and improved long-term employee retention.

To assess a candidate’s cultural fit, recruiters review both their personal and professional background and ask targeted questions during the hiring interviews.
